This exciting new international conference on antennas and propagation has been created to provide a cost effective opportunity for the presentation, discussion and promotion of research in our discipline. It will focus on fresh ideas for technology in applications and theory for both academia and commerce.

AMTA is celebrating 26 years of success with a rich history and technology. The AMTA organization is using this success as an opportunity to kick off a global initiative. After a very successful AMTA Europe Short Course 2004 in Munich (Germany) we will now create an Asian forum for discussion and reflection on Antenna Measurement Techniques. This is part of the AMTA long-range plan of having an international AMTA symposium each year, alternating between Europe and Asia.

The 2005 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and the 2005 USNC/URSI (U.S. National Committee of the International Union of Radio Science) National Radio Science meeting will be held jointly on July 3-8, 2005 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. The symposium and meeting are co-sponsored by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) and the USNC/URSI Commissions A, B, D, E, F, and K. The technical sessions, workshops, and short courses will be coordinated between the two symposia to provide a comprehensive and well-balanced program. This meeting is intended to provide an international forum for the exchange of information on state-of-the-art research in antennas, propagation, and electromagnetic engineering.

More than 25 years ago AMTA was created in Atlanta, Georgia by 15 engineers to promote advances in antenna and radar cross-section measurements.  Today, more than 400 AMTA members from around the world meet each year to improve the state-of-the-art of antenna measurement theory and techniques.
