Almost a year has passed since we first
wrote to you in advance of our visit to AMTA 2002. As we shall not
be at AMTA this year, we thought it worthwhile to keep you in the
picture by letting you know that matters have moved on in the
intervening period (and from the date of our Spring Newsletter).
Our applications for both UK and
International patents to cover the use of equalization as an
anti-multipath technique in antenna ranges have been published, and
we have publicized the idea further via papers at ICAP 2003 and in
the April 2003 edition of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation
Magazine. The latter resulted in a most useful exchange of
correspondence with Richard P. Flam, formerly of Flam & Russell,
Inc.
A programme of experimental work is
under development based on the classical "before and after"
approach. This will allow us to demonstrate the improvement in
quality that equalization delivers to antenna-pattern measurements
under various measurement conditions. Moreover, we shall compare the
results achieved from the equalization technique with another form
of advanced signal processing.
Our popular SystemView
training course in Communication Systems will run twice this autumn
at locations in Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden.
We cordially invite you to
keep in touch by e-mail if you are interested in collaborating with
us or wish to be kept up to date on progress on this exciting
project.
